We are a nonprofit organization whose focus will be on helping small, rural communities realize energy freedom through efficiency Initiatives and renewable energy projects, including community solar projects, supplemented by wind and energy storage.
Our mission will be accomplished through strategic alliances with a myriad of contractors, including certified solar installers.
Our current geographical area of focus is Effingham County, IL.
To be more specific, The Village of Edgewood, along with the Towns of Mason & Watson.
We want to hear from our community! We are currently applying for grant funding to support our mission and would like to see our projects completed by local contractors.
We would also like to hear from our residents and business owners.
Does your home or business qualify for any energy efficiency upgrades? Let's find out!

Welcome to Renewable Futures Foundation, where our commitment to sustainability drives a brighter and more independent future for Environmental Justice Communities across Illinois. Founded on the principles of environmental justice and energy sovereignty, our nonprofit organization spearheads initiatives that empower individuals, nonprofits, and public institutions to embrace renewable energy solutions.
With plans to align with state programs such as Illinois Solar For All, we are on a mission to contribute to the state's renewable energy goals. Our focus extends beyond just installing solar panels – we're pioneering an Energy Efficiency Initiative that addresses the fundamental aspects of energy conservation, including weatherization, insulation, and HVAC upgrades.
Community-Centric Approach:
Based in the Village of Edgewood, Illinois, we've initiated partnerships with local organizations and municipalities, striving to make renewable energy accessible to all. By tailoring our services to income-eligible families, nonprofits, and the municipalities themselves, we're building a grassroots movement that starts at the local level and expands statewide.
FREEDOM!
SERVICE, NOT SALES!
We're here to help, not to sell you anything. We're a nonprofit organization, not commissioned salespeople.
Our commitment to community engagement and education sets us apart from solar sales companies with a more transactional focus.
HOLISTIC APPROACH
Unlike traditional solar sales companies that focus solely on photovoltaic installations, Renewable Futures Foundation takes a comprehensive approach. We go beyond solar panels, addressing the broader spectrum of energy needs through our Energy Efficiency Initiative. By offering services such as weatherization, insulation, and HVAC upgrades, we ensure that our clients not only generate clean energy but also optimize their overall energy consumption.
COMMUNITY-CENTRIC
Our foundation is deeply embedded in the communities we serve. We collaborate with local organizations, municipalities, and nonprofits to understand the unique needs of small, rural communities. This grassroots approach allows us to tailor our projects to income-eligible families and nonprofits, making renewable energy accessible to those who need it the most.

Local contractors collaborating with energy specialists, to provide savings and sovereignty!
The Illinois Environmental Justice Act states that no segment of the population should bear disproportionately high or adverse effects of environmental pollution, regardless of race, national origin, age, or income.
Environmental justice communities are identified by calculating a higher risk of exposure to pollution based on environmental and socioeconomic factors.
Achieving optimal results in energy efficiency requires a tailored and holistic approach. At Renewable Futures Foundation, we understand that it's not just about installing solar panels; it's about optimizing every aspect of energy consumption. Our Energy Efficiency Initiative goes beyond renewables, addressing critical elements such as weatherization, insulation, HVAC upgrades, and lighting. By providing a comprehensive suite of services, we ensure that our clients not only generate clean energy but also maximize their savings and minimize environmental impact. Our commitment to community engagement and education empowers individuals and organizations to make informed decisions, fostering a sustainable and energy-efficient future for all.
